Unlock Your Creativity: Connecting To Our Creative Nature

As we travel the road of Ascension, more and more people will inevitably embrace their creative nature, however that expresses itself for each individual; it could be through dancing, writing, painting, singing, speaking, etc. With this also come challenges, as the world we lived in didn’t really facilitate the flow of creativity. However, this is changing fast. The feminine aspect within each one of us is awakening and becoming stronger, balanced harmoniously by the masculine. From a higher perspective, these two are not only balancing, but are merging into One, which can only lead to harmony in all ways. That is a “side effect” of our merging with the Soul, which I am sure many of you are going through, whether aware or unaware of this process.

This unification is more tangible than ever and it will become clearer to more people due to the “veils thinning”. The universe supports it as well, hence the venusian energy we are going to experience by the end of the month, which brings the goddess aspect, the creative nature at the surface.

This month of July has a great potential for the emergence of any kind of Soul expression, depending on each individual’s creative abilities. It is most important to allow the flow of whatever comes through, to be a clear channel, so I feel like adressing the blockages that we might hold against it. The challenges around Soul expression are inevitable for some, as they were chosen by their own selves to grow through and expand, but the awareness can make the challenge, less challenging. 11701151_10153546135112975_3741302259338589657_n

Common blocks to the flow of creativity are:

Mental Blocks – This can be anything from self-doubt, being too critical of yourself, being a perfectionist to limitating thought patterns such as “I can’t do this, I can’t do anything” etc. The key to releasing mental blocks in most cases is becoming self-observervant. Observe  your thoughts without engaging and alchemize them by connecting to your heart’s deepest truths, which in this case is your unlimited creative potential. Know your heart’s truths, discover your potential and don’t let the mind sabotage you on the way. Have the mind on your side, it can become the greatest ally once you bring presence/awareness into the now.

• Emotional Blocks – This is the emotional resistance such as fear of any kind, unworthiness or even unconscious (or conscious) self-sabotaging, not loving yourself enough to do what you enjoy. Many people do that silly thing unconsciously as there are a lot of self-love related “issues” deeply ingrained in the psyche. However, we have to opportunity this month to change that as Venus retrograde will remind us of the importance and joy of truly loving yourself as you are and all you are. The “ugly” emotions are quite uncomfortable to feel, but feeling is exactly the solution to emotional blocks. The only way up is through. Feel whatever needs to be felt, feel the deepest darkest emotions, as each teach us something and let them go for they served their purpose. At times, these emotions are pointing you towards deeper hidden programming stored in your cellular memory, it could be either from childhood or other lifetimes. Observe and if you feel guided to, go deeper, find the root and transmute it from there once and forever.

Procrastination – This is sometimes a result of supressed emotions that can instill a lethargic state, which is an emotional block that I’ve explained above, but at the same time it could be a matter of lacking motivation and just being lazy. There are many ways you can motivate yourself and get yourself out of the lazy state. This is all depending on the individual to discover the way it works for them and be willing to push themselves out of the procrastination mode. Discovering the Soul’s true passions are most likely to help us become more active.

Old ways of working – We have to find the balance between making a schedule that works for us, organising our time and energy in an effective, practical way and going with the flow. This is again your job to find out how you function best, what your priorities are, organise in a way that you are not overwhelmed and exhausted by everything. At the same time this needs to be balanced by allowing things to unfold on their own, without limiting or resisting the creative flow, but surrender to it, so a certain flexibility is needed. It is you who have to find that balance to be able to apply it in your life.

Focus – At times, with everything going on within and without, it is hard to maintain your focus, so it’s extremely important to sit with yourself when feeling so, take a few deep breaths and get centered, connected, focused and grounded. This is not a block, but it is a challenge. A lot of self-mastery is required to maintain a higher vibration and frequency during “shifty” times and creativity will not flow freely and purely from Source, when your state of being is not aligned with it. Be aware, be observant in the now and shift your focus. Energy flows where attention goes.

Not being prospere – I’m not only referring to money, but abundance in general. I’ve noticed that many times people are not able to express their creativity due to lack of material things or knowledge or any other type of lack. This is another huge block, which requires a longer writing, but basically, we create our own reality. We have to transcend the “poverty consciousness” into abundance consciousness. We have to dissolve any outdated belief system, perception, perspective, programming related to lack. It is a major one for the Collective and it is a process that can’t happen over night as we have so many deeply ingrained social programming in the unconscious. However, July brings this fertile energy with it, the energy of abundance, prosperity. Plant seeds through intentions and allow them to blossom. A more detailed article on abundance will be up on the site soon so stay tuned for that one.

Energetic Blocks – We have to take responsability for our energy. That implies becoming more aware of energy and mastering it. There are many ways of unblocking “stagnant” energy, one of my favourite one being using the violet flame. You can find a lot of information about that on the website and many other ways to cleanse, transmute, purify, balance etc. You can do some research if you feel guided to.

With all that being said, creativity and the exploration of our creative nature can open pathways for us that we could only dream about until now. Creativity, when flowing freely through as, when we are embodying it and expressing it passionately, is pure joy, it will catapult you into a state of bliss. It is ultimately pure creation. Play. Create. Enjoy!

Deva Premal: The Voice Of Bliss

Deva Premal (born 2 April 1970 in Nürnberg, Germany) is a musician known for her meditative spiritual New Age music, which puts ancient Buddhist and Sanskrit mantras—as well as chants in other languages—into atmospheric contemporary settings.

Biography

Premal met her partner in life and music, Miten, at the Osho ashram in Pune, India in 1990, where she was studying reflexology, shiatsu, cranio-sacral therapy, and massage. They have been touring together since 1992, offering concerts and chant workshops worldwide.

Best known for her top-selling chant CDs, Premal is a classically trained musician who grew up singing mantras in a German home permeated with Eastern Spirituality. Her albums have topped the New Age charts throughout the world since her first release, The Essence (1998), which features the “Gayatri Mantra.” Premal and Miten’s record company, Prabhu Music, reports sales of over 900,000 albums.

Deva Premal began her journey with mantra in her mother’s womb, as her father chanted the “Gayatri Mantra”—one of the most sacred mantras of Sanatana Dharma—to her daily. The mantra continued to be her bedtime lullaby after she was born. Many years later, she heard a friend singing the Gayatri and was inspired to put together an album highlighting its sacredness. Premal and Miten recorded The Essence (1998) in her mother’s apartment in Germany, where she was born and where she first heard the Gayartri mantra.

Deva Premal brought this journey with the Gayatri Mantra full circle in July 2005, when she and Miten chanted it for her father as he was dying; “We kept singing for what must have been over half an hour, when suddenly the monitor showed that he was about to leave. I continued to sing, and the last sound he heard as he passed on was his beloved “Gayatri Mantra.” Finally we ended with the mantra Om and the circle was complete. He had welcomed me onto this planet with the “Gayatri,” and I accompanied him out of this physical existence with it. What a blessing this was for me! It was the first time that I was present at a death, and to be at my father’s is a memory I will cherish all my life.”

In an interview with Sam Slovik of LA Yoga Magazine, Deva Premal discussed the potent effect many notice when chanting mantras:

“The meaning is secondary. The word table is not the table…with Sanskrit, the word ananda is the sound vibration of bliss. In sound the energy of bliss. We have to say bliss; we have to make it smaller by putting it into an English word. Just the sound; ananda, If we were sensitive enough, we’d just feel the entire scope of that energy that’s contained in this sound… It’s working on a cellular level. It’s much deeper than the mind. It’s not a language that you need to understand the meaning of before you use it. It’s a deep Universal sound code that connects us all.”

Deva Premal’s chants have been used in a wide variety of settings in recent years. Cher featured Premal’s version of the “Gayatri Mantra” on her Farewell Tour and Russian Prima Ballerina Diana Vishneva danced to Deva Premal’s “Gayatri” in Moses Pendleton’s F.L.O.W. series. Actor/director Edward James Olmos is said to have handed out copies of Premal’s “Gayatri Mantra” to the entire cast and crew of Battlestar Galactica, as well as citing her music as a source of inspiration in preparing his role as Commander Adama in the series. Mr. Olmos also used “Om Hraum Mitraya” from Deva’s album Dakshina (2005) to close his HBO movie Walkout.

Deva Premal and Miten performed for The Dalai Lama during a 2002 Conference in Munich, Germany on “Unity in Duality,” which brought top figures from the scientific community together with members of the Buddhist community. They gave a concert for the full conference, and were also invited to sing for the Dalai Lama at a small pre-conference gathering. They had heard that the Dalai Lama’s favorite mantra was the Tara Mantra, dedicated to the Green Tara of Compassion, and that he had asked for it be chanted recently when he was ill, and so they chanted it for him.

Deva Premal’s release, Tibetan Mantras for Precarious Times (2010), was recorded with the Gyuto Monks of Tibet (who are known for their tradition of overtone singing, also described as “chordal chanting”) and was created as a support for mantra meditation practice, featuring eight mantras chanted 108 times each. It is a benefit CD, with all proceeds going to the Gyuto Monastery in Dharmsala, India, the Phowa Project, and Veggiyana.

Creative Method

Deva Premal and Miten use a process of “natural selection” to choose the mantras on their albums. Premal has said she gravitates toward Sanskrit mantras, rather than mantras from other languages. She says that, for her, removing her ego from her understanding of the mantra allows the creative process to express the true meaning of the mantra.

The purpose of her work was explained: “Our objective is to be open to the Goddess of music – to be true to ourselves, as musicians, as ‘teachers;’ as partners, and ultimately, as individuals – fellow travellers. We accomplish this by not ‘trying’ to accomplish anything. We take very little credit for what is happening around our so-called success (we have sold over a million albums now!) – we see our selves as messengers of a 5,000 year old tradition…so, our part in the process is simply to show up and chant.”

The Veil Is Thinner Than Ever

I enjoy writing reports about enlightenment, but some of the advice we’ve been given by spiritual teachers from the past isn’t quite relevant to the present.

Depending on which teacher you listen to, the veil was much thicker when they shared their teachings with the world. We’re capable of achieving a lot more in terms of consciousness exploration than when a lot of spiritual teachers were in their prime, and this is a liberating thing to realize. The veil’s a lot thinner than it used to be, and all it takes is a small meditation to realize that we can glimpse a higher state of consciousness pretty easily.

Explore the pathways of your spirit
Explore the pathways of your spirit

Exploring our consciousness gets easier with every year that passes, and all we need to do is show a little effort to glimpse things that might’ve been unheard of in some spiritual teachers’ heyday. We don’t need to follow all the strict and rigid rules that were dictated by people who found enlightenment when the veil between the material and the spiritual was stronger, and for the most part, we can chart our own path; expand our consciousness in our own way. Meditation is a great way to explore the etheric abyss, but we don’t have to be rigid about it to glimpse spirit.

We can make our own meditation, and by that I mean we can find things that help us expand our consciousness without having to sternly meditate. There’s nothing wrong with dedicated meditation, and I’d recommend finding a place to sit in silence and contemplation every now and then, but the difference between now and before is that we don’t have to. We can meditate in whatever way works for us, and a lot of people use music to calm the mind and get to a place beyond the physical senses. Music is one of the best ways to meditate, and whether we listen to it or play it, it’s a helpful tool in the expansion of consciousness. Other people use things like writing to meditate, and while writing isn’t as potent of a way to access spirit as music or direct meditation, it still connects us with a higher aspect of our consciousness, which, if we stay connected with, we can allow to speak through our writings. Instead of hearing from a lone spiritual writer, you could hear from their inner voice without realizing it (or without them realizing it).

The Veil of Oblivion is thinner than ever
The Veil of Oblivion is thinner than ever

One of the benefits of the decreasing veil is that we can use creativity to bridge the gap and connect with spirit in a potent way, and we might as well take the opportunity. No matter how you like to express yourself, you can use creativity to elevate your awareness and help others understand that we live in an innately spiritual world. You can use the creative inspiration we’ve all felt at one time or another to connect with your inner voice and let it speak through you, and while channeling is pretty popular right now, I think writing can become the new channeling if we let it. There’ll always be people who want to communicate with entities in higher realms, but those of us who are more passionate about maintaining a connection with our inner voice (and subsequently, the universe), can deepen this connection with every spiritually inspired thing we do. It’s safe to say that most conscious musicians pick up on their inner voice when they write music that’s inspired by spirit, but again, it doesn’t matter what creative avenue we use to connect as long as it works for us and we diligently pursue it. I honestly think the pursuit of creativity will connect us with a higher aspect of our consciousness, and with how much the veil’s thinning, it stands to reason that creativity, which has always been a potent way to connect, will help us transcend the veil and express the spirit in an unhindered way. The only thing that stops us from connecting is our unwillingness or hesitation, and we’ll have to be confident in ourselves and the things we’ve come here to do if we want to maintain a potent creative and spiritual connection. Self-confidence is important if we want to all-out diminish the veil that stands between us and a higher perception, and everything seems to get easier when we’re confident in ourselves. Together with an open mind and a flowing heart, self-confidence will ensure that we use our creativity to consistently tear down the barrier between us and that omnipotent aspect of our consciousness that can flow through us and amaze us (and everyone else). We’re all creative powerhouses who are capable of enlightenment, but we have to realize it before we can do anything significant. We have to realize that we’re in a great position to raise the collective vibration, and in my opinion, collective ascension will result from creativity, meditation and spiritually inspired activism.

Spiritual Activism
Activism and Spirituality seem to go hand in hand these days, and possibly is the only form of revolution that will change the systems.

I think this is the great secret the hippies touched on in the sixties and seventies. They realized that creativity, activism and a direct exploration of our consciousness could enlighten the world, and some of them are still on a journey to elevate the planetary consciousness with those three things. The hippies got it right for the most part, but admittedly, some of them got lost in the stereotypical ‘sex, drugs and rock n roll’. We’re the new generation, and we can correct whatever perceived errors were made by the awakening generations before us while integrating the things they got right into our attempts to raise our consciousness. The beatniks, the hippies, the Rastas and every other counterculture group that came to us in the fifties, sixties and seventies had touched on something that we can now expand, and expanding it will get easier as the veil becomes thinner and we’re eventually left with no obstacles in our way. As we grow closer with spirit, let’s remember to embrace the creative and meditative practices that are aligning us with it and raising the collective vibration. Let’s keep in mind that we don’t have to meditate for hours on end just to get a potent glimpse, and we can write articles, paint pictures or play music to weaken the veil. We don’t have to follow all the rigid rules we’ve been given about enlightenment, and we don’t have to renounce the whole world. We can embrace the world without being corrupted by the aspects of society that hold us back, and we don’t get anywhere by avoiding any aspect of reality, lower or higher. We have to integrate and accept the lower, darker aspects of reality before we can enjoy anything higher, and this requires us to embrace everything about our existence on this planet. Collective enlightenment is possible, especially right now, but those of us who’ve become aware will have to work (and play) hard to create it. We’ll also want to take some time in quiet, contemplative stillness every now and then. Creativity is one of the most potent ways to align, but direct meditation still takes the cake. Above all, we have to remember to empower ourselves and, again, have confidence in our ability to complete the tasks at hand each day. We’re capable of anything we’re willing to believe we’re capable of, and only when we stop ourselves do we fail to achieve anything significant. No matter what we do, we have to believe in ourselves or it’ll all go south. With, faith, self-empowerment and the recognition that we don’t have to follow someone else’s rules, our spiritual evolution will be a breeze and we’ll enjoy everything we do to awaken the world. I envision a world where every empowered person is willing to follow their passion, and we’ll have to create this world if we want collective enlightenment.
