“Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it a rest, heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul.”_ Unknown
Some people will hear the call… When they do, it will be so powerfully loud that there will be no other way to deal with it rather than them proudly following it.
Some people will lead you… It’s just the way it is. They will have such a strong mission; they have to wear the warrior’s armour and live under it.
Nahko Bear is with no doubt a warrior, a music warrior. His spirit, bright and shining, is on a mission, and part of this mission is to awaken the people. Awakenings can be of various kinds and can happen in various ways. Nahko is here to bring a magical type, starting with the power of his music, then going into his message and his kindness.
When I first heard his songs, I felt my soul immediately expand in awe and wonder.
“Aloha, Aloha Ke Akua, Ke Akua, Aloha, Aloha, Kuleana, Kuleana.” If you haven’t heard their music, here is a link to this wonderful song full of life and spirit.
When you meet a warrior you are not sure what to expect, especially if this warrior makes sure everyone feels he is just like everyone else and that we are all the same and all connected.
His soul is young and playful, and at the same time full of life, joy and light; loads of light. He is very passionate for his mission and dedicated to his fans and his Ohana band (Hawaiian name for family).
Interviewing Nahko was very inspiring, and getting to know him a little and the whole band was a great experience. Nahko is very transparent; what you see is what you get. He is present, and his kindness is seen in the way he treats the fans with such care and respect.
You can listen to the whole interview here:
“I think our music promotes the bridging of all tribes,” Nahko says. “The lyrics and the stories and our energy as a group break down people’s walls. You’ll find us in the most unique places on earth because it’s real, raw, and honest storytelling about what we’ve been through and what we believe in. And that’s why people connect with it. I think that’s the most important thing you can do with music.”_ Nahko Bear
